Volunteers are the hands and feet of the Catholic Church. Without people willing to spend some time in service to the Church, the Church would not be the thriving community it is in the world today. Success is not possible without individuals willing to give of themselves to carry out the work of the Church on Earth.

The RCIA program needs a wide variety of volunteers. Due to the circumstances of the pandemic, we have a greater need then ever for people to be willing to step forward and walk the journey of exploration and discovery with individuals seeking to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church. The various types of volunteers needed is listed below.

If you wish to volunteer in some capacity, please complete the registration form.

Prayer Warriors

Individuals and families willing to spend time in prayer each day specifically for the Candidates and Catechumens. This can be done by spending time in silence, saying a rosary, reading Sacred Scripture, spending time in front of the Blessed Sacrament, or any other way to spiritually strengthen the individuals in the formation process.

Individuals willing to walk with the Candidates and Catechumens through the entire formation process. The Sponsor will remain in close contact with the individual by at least weekly contact, be available to help respond to questions, share in the learning process, encourage and pray for the Candidate or Catechumen, assist the Candidate or Catechumen in becoming a part of the St. John Neumann community, and help the Candidate or Catechumen determine when they are ready to undergo the final process before entering the Church.

Sharing the Faith

We are looking for individuals willing to share their journey of Faith with the participants in the RCIA process. These individuals will prepare a 15 – 20 minute sharing of the growth of their individual Faith. These sharing will occur during the meetings of all the RCIA Candidates, Catechumens, and Sponsors.

Due to the current circumstances with the pandemic, the meetings and sharings will occur over the parish’s Zoom account.
