This time of year we are all celebrating the joys of what we have received and those in our lives we are not able to be with due to the circumstances with the pandemic. Today, on the Feast of the Holy Family, we must remember to thank the Lord for the greatest gift we were not given, in fact, we did not make the choice to pick this gift. It is the gift of our parents. Many people are blessed to be able to know their parents, both mother and father, throughout their childhood and as they become adults. This is one of the greatest gifts a person could ever have because parents are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure their children are cared for and loved. Each parent does, to the best of thier ability, to love their children unconditionally and provide all they need each and every day. Sadly, there are cases where this is not true, but the love is there, somewhere and at some time. Take some time each day and say a prayer for your parents, they have given more than you will ever know. If you can, call them and thank them and love them while you have them because one day they will go to be with the Lord and there will be a void in your life that will never be filled. Love the gift you did not ask for, let them know and you will be a better person for it. May the Lord bless each of our parents and fill them with His peace and joy always. I pray you each have a wonderful and blessed Chrismas season.
