Divine Mercy

St. Pope John Paul II in his abundant wisdom named the Sunday after Easter “Divine Mercy Sunday”.  He wished to place an annual reminder of the abundant mercy of God available to us each and every moment of our lives.  On our own, we do not deserve the joys of heaven, but through the mercy of God, we are able to experience it.  Mercy is available to us each and every moment of our lives, we must be willing to accept and embrace it.  There are times each of us feels we do not deserve God’s mercy, but as our loving Father, he offers it to us.  We must open our hearts and minds to accept His mercy, no matter what we have done, and allow the grace coming with the mercy to change our lives forever.

Take some time and pray God will give you the strength to be open to His mercy and allow His love to fill you as nothing else can.  When this is accomplished, we will know a peace like nothing else.
