One of the most beautiful parables in Scripture is about the lost sheep and the shepard leaving the flock to go and find the one that is lost. As I was in prayer and reflection this morning, I came to the realization that in order for the lost sheep to be found, it has to want to be found. The quest has to be to find the other.
This lead to a reflection on the times in my life I was lost, but did I really want to be found? To be found is to open up and admit there are things that I cannot do on my own. I need to be vulnerable and seek the one who can help me and lead me back to safety. There are many reasons for not wanting to be found, but in order to be found, we must wish for it to happen. We must seek the Shepard who will lead us home.
